THE EAGLES PRAHA TAKE EARLY LEAD IN 11-7 WIN OVER HROŠI BRNO
The Eagles Praha built an early lead against Hroši Brno, scoring four runs in the first inning, en route to a 11-7 win on Sunday at Zamilovaný háj.
Matěj Hejma racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Eagles Praha.
Daniel Vítek racked up five strikeouts in the the Eagles Praha win. Daniel allowed no earned runs, four hits and two walks over five innings.
Leoš Kubát took the loss for Hroši Brno. He allowed seven runs in 5 1/3 innings, walked four and struck out three.
The Eagles Praha piled on two more runs in the top of the fifth. The inning got off to a hot start when Matěj Hejma tripled, plating Michael Zýma. That was followed up by Jan Drábek’s single, scoring Matěj Hejma.
One run in the bottom of the fifth helped Hroši Brno close its deficit to 7-1. A groundout by Ondráček triggered Hroši Brno’s comeback. The Eagles Praha stopped the rally after Daniel got Martin Jelínek to strike out.
After pushing across two runs in the bottom of the sixth, Hroši Brno faced just a 7-3 deficit. An error and an RBI single by Jablonka fueled Hroši Brno’s comeback. Finally, David Bárta induced an inning-ending ground out from Janíček.
The Eagles Praha built upon their lead with three runs in the seventh. A single by Martin Laube ignited the offense, plating Matěj Hejma. That was followed up by Rudolf’s triple, bringing home Martin.
Four Hroši Brno runs crossed the plate in the bottom half of the seventh, making the score 10-7. A walk by Vystrčil, a two-run double by Kucín, and a sacrifice fly by Winkler sparked Hroši Brno’s rally. The Hroši Brno threat came to an end when Viktor Šmidt finally got Janíček to strike out.
